Jim Garvey
Deacon of Missions
August 2013

Thank you to all who volunteered and supported the Silicon Valley BBQ and our hosting of those watching the fireworks on the 4th of July. We will trust God to use your faithful service in reaching more people with the Good News of His love.

Mission giving for 2013 is on track to equal our goal which, according to the prescriptions, is 120% of last year’s goal. Thank you all; please keep giving specifically to missions by designating the amount on your offering envelopes.

Mexico House Build

mexico_house_build_lift.jpgSeptember's outreach will include the Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival in Central Park on the 14th and 15th and the Mexico Housebuilding on the 21st and the 27th-29th. Donations of $2,500 are needed for the building materials and transportation. Checks can made to SCFBC with "Mexico House" written in the memo line. Please give as you feel led. We will need an “all hands” turnout on the 21st to pre-build the house in our parking lot and as many as 20 volunteers for the 27th-29th trip to Ensenada to assemble the house. Invite your family, friends and co-workers to participate. If you can help with donating items for the care package we will be giving the family in Mexico you can review the list of items here. More information will be given during the worship announcements leading up to these events.
