NEW ADDITIONS TO THE COLLECTION

You may have wondered why the spines on some of the books in the lobby Book Nook have a strip of blue tape with a number on it. Well, the number is to let you know which books are NEW to the library's collection. And while the books might not be recently published, they're newly donated or newly purchased. More importantly, they look like new! This month's number, for April, is "4", which means the new books will be in the lobby throughout the month of May and/or June. In June, the number will be "6", and so on through number "12" in December. We hope this will make it easier for you to find the "new additions" of books or visual media you've been looking for in the library. This month's Book Nook materials, include the new additions plus materials that complement Pastor Valui's seven-week series in the Book of Acts.

FINISHED READING THAT BOOK OR WATCHING THAT DVD?

If you have, would you please return borrowed materials to the library, Book Nook basket or the church office? That will let others enjoy them, too. There are no late fees, so you won't owe anything!  We just want to keep all the materials in the collection circulating. Thank you for helping the library serve everyone in the church!

ARE YOU A SERIOUS STUDENT OF THE BIBLE?

Or do you know someone who is? We want to find a good home for three theological collections recently donated to the church. The three collections total 40 volumes. Below are the basic facts about each collection, except the number of pages in each book. We estimate an average of at least 500 pages per book, so that's a total of more than 20,000 pages. And the combined weight of all three collections is about 75 pounds!

Also, there's a significant amount of Greek text, titles and section headings in the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament. So, this collection is definitely for very serious Bible study.

ABOUT THE BOOKS

The Pulpit Commentary – 23 volumes, by H.D.M. Spence (1978).  Theological Dictionary of the New Testament – 10 volumes, by Gregory Kittle (1977) – has a lot of Greek words.  The Expositor’s Bible Commentary (NIV) –11 volumes (missing Vol. 12 – Index & Bibliography), by Frank Gaeblein (1984).
