The theme of the Summer Vacation Bible School Hero Central was "Discover Your Strength In God." Hero Central used music, science, crafts, recreation and snacks to make Bible stories fun for the kids and applicable to their lives. We were able to minister to many kids outside of our church, too. This year, Hero Central happened every Thursday evening from July to August, giving us the opportunity to build relationships with the parents and kids over a longer period of time.
Five families joined us on the Family Life Vacation Bible School Sunday.
Building strong relationships takes time, and interacting with the parents for about 6 weeks gave us the opportunity to invite them to our worship service. Sometimes it may take months, or even a year, to reach the point where you can invite a friend to church or to a church event. Our goal at SCFBC is to build intentional and qualitative relationships with children and families.
