An Open Door: Walking through the Open Door to God-Given Opportunities and Possibilities

A Vision For Church-Wide Fasting And Prayer In The Month Of January

Jesus gave a clear vision to your pastor, saying, “I have set before you an open door.”
(Revelation 3:8)

1. We are fasting and praying to walk through the open door of God-given opportunities and possibilities.

2. We are fasting and praying to feast on what God has prepared for us and to celebrate His divine sustenance.

3. We are fasting and praying to abandon ourselves into the abundance of God.

4. We are fasting and praying NOT as deprivation, BUT as appreciation of the kingdom of God present and active in our lives.

DIRECTIONS FOR FASTING AND PRAYING

1. Meditate on these FOUR POINTS as you Fast And Pray every day in January.

2. If you cannot fast, pray and meditate for the world over these FOUR POINTS every day.

3. Use Daniel’s Fast as the method for fasting. (Daniel 10:3, Daniel 1:12)
Daniel ate vegetables and drank water. He did not eat pleasant food. For you, the pleasant food could be cake, doughnuts, ice cream, sodas – whatever is beyond what you need. Daniel also ate no meat nor drank wine.

Cultivate your hunger for God during the whole month of January. Feast on the provision of God – the bread of heaven. Dallas Willard said, "Fasting is, indeed, feasting. When we have learned well to fast, we will not suffer from it. It will bring strength and joy."
