On Sunday evening, November 25th, the VIBE youth group joined our San Francisco Homeless
Outreach team to distribute warm clothing, accessories, and blankets to the homeless.
I was honored to lead seven of our youth and four mentors who stepped out of their
comfort zones to extend love and compassion to those living on the streets of
San Francisco. I also took this opportunity to invite a student from Notre Dame High
School who I am mentoring for her senior service project on the issue of
homelessness.
"Do everything in love." (1 Corinthians 16:14)
As the Holy Spirit guided us throughout the evening, Sadiye, Ayla, Grace, Josie C., Shim, Ali, Michael, Allison,
Danijela, Stacy and Dan were bold as they prayed over the men
and women we met on the streets.
We had a great time hanging out on BART
and serving together with our SCFBC family and volunteers from the Neighborhood
Bible Church. Putting our faith into action led to a life-changing experience
that will be cemented into our hearts and memories.
When we serve others, we
serve God!
“For I was hungry and you gave Me food;
I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was
naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and
you came to Me.” (Matthew 25:35-36)
