Jesus took an established social tradition of the Jews – breaking bread together – and turned it into an opportunity to engage with people and teach important lessons. He ate with friends, outcasts and enemies to share God's love. Learning from Jesus' "Table Fellowship," we find that sharing a meal provides a way to invite others to share God's unconditional love and follow the path to an abundant life.

Many Life Groups recently completed the 12-week fall trimester and celebrated what they have learned at a gathering for Table Fellowship. While not everyone around the table looked, thought, and ate alike, they had meaningful conversations and valued one another. We are just learning to share our time and ourselves with people from different walks of life – just as Jesus did. When we are able to do that, we have taken a big step in building both personal relationships and building God's kingdom.

Winter/Spring 2019 Life Groups begin on Sunday, February 3rd, after our 31 days of fasting and praying in January. Sign up for a Life Group now  at www.scfbc.org/lg.

KID Zone (Kids in Discipleship) celebrated its annual Christmas party on December 16th. What's special about this party is that the KIDZ prepared more than half of what goes into the celebration – from table settings, decorations, and salad prep to cookie decoration. The Christmas party also gives families the opportunity to eat and connect with other families.

We learned about the events leading up to the birth of Jesus in December. In January, we learned about His life and ministry, and will continue that in February.
