RESURRECT NOT RECYCLE:
Praying For 31 People In 31 Days
January 1-31, 2020

“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38)

Prayer really works. When you pray to God, your life can change and other people’s lives can change. I would like you and all the church to pray for 31 people in 31 days, and here’s why. I have experienced people changed while they are praying to God. I have seen God deliver people from oppression while praying to God for help. I have seen pain leave the body of people while praying. I have seen people healed from emotional trauma and released from fear through prayers. I have seen people give their life to Christ while praying.

Prayer is powerful. One thing I learned early on in my walk with God is that He answers prayers. The first time God talked to me He provided comfort for my anguish. I spoke to God of the anguish of being fatherless. I cried and complained in the bitterness of my soul. God answered and said, I will be your father.”

Prayer is effective. You can access supernatural power through praying to God. When I first started serving God, I had no strategy, no structure, and no organizational skills, so I prayed. I prayed when I was on the mountain top, and I prayed when I was in the valley. I prayed all the time. Prayer was, and it still is, the most powerful way to personal growth and making disciples of Jesus. The harvest is plentiful, and Jesus taught us to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers. Always pray first before you do anything for God.

When Jesus prayed, He prayed for the will of God to be done on earth as it is in heaven. He prayed for the kingdom of God to come.

When you pray, do not show off as the hypocrites do. They love to pray in public places so people can see them. Pray to God like Jesus prayed — in places of quiet solitude when that is possible. When that is not possible, find a place to pray where you can be alone with God.

When you pray, pray to God who is in His secret place, and God will reward you openly.

When you pray, do not use empty, meaningless words, or vain repetitions. Do not pray a recycling prayer, but pray a resurrecting prayer. Pray that people will experience the resurrecting power of the Holy Spirit.

Except by prayer and fasting: In my walk with the Father, I came to know that some battles can only be won by fasting and prayer. Fasting and prayer can move you from feeling afraid to boldly sharing your faith. This is the truth: The harvest is plentiful, so we need many laborers. Shall we pray?
