The SPEEDway is our Sunday morning children's
ministry for all kids ages birth through 5th grade. Beginning at 9:15am during
the Sunday School hour and continuing through the worship hour, quality childcare and
classes are provided children. The goal of The SPEEDway children's ministry is to encourage
children to continue to grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus. We believe that when a
child accept Jesus as their forever friend, that this is only beginning of their Christian
journey. So much more waits for them. Therefore, we have aligned the purposes of the children's
ministry to reflect the overall purposes of SCFBC.

S - Surrender (your life to Jesus)
P - Partner (with other Christians in a church family)
E - Educate (yourself in knowledge of God’s word)
E - Equip (yourself to do the ministry God’s has prepared you for)
D - Deliver (the Good News to those around you)
Way
Nursery (Birth - age 2)
Our Nursery is staffed by a paid attendant, and
is overseen by a volunteer coordinator. All Nursery volunteers are trained, and have
a love for small children. Nursery care is available on Sunday mornings from 9:00am -
11:45am, and on Sunday evenings from 5:15-6:30pm. Pagers are available for parents who
wish to have them.
Preschool (Ages 3-5)
The preschoolers enjoy a morning filled with play,
stories, snacks, music and more play. The lessons are hands-on, and encourage the preschool
children to have fun living out the stories. The children also enjoy playing on our
wonderful outdoor playground. Preschool Sunday School begins at 9:15am, and their program
continues through the worship hour which ends at 11:45am.
Elementary (Grades K-5)
Beginning at 9:15am our elementary children break into their
age-grouped Sunday School classes. Children in grades 2-5 participate in Kids'
Worship. During the worship hour, the children come together for recreation and snacks,
and then separate again for their 2nd hour class. In this second hour,
the kids enjoy hands-on Bible lessons which include a variety of interactive activities.

EDGE Children's Ministry
SUMMER ONLY During our EDGE Worship Service on Sunday evening,
the children have their own gathering. This group is for children ages 3-5th
grade, and includes Bible stories, fun Bible activities, snacks and games. All these elements
work together to teach the children the Bible lesson of the evening. This class begins
at 5:15pm and runs through the end of EDGE worship, around 6:40pm.
Family Ministries
During the year, we offer a variety of events and programs
for families. These include outings like bowling, swim parties, Happy Hollow
and family football. They also include parenting classes, family worship
services and even a family camp.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
July 14-18, 2008 6pm-8:30pm

Spend a week with us learning about God with crazy games, music, and
activities. A whole crew of leaders make this summer week an exciting time for children

Hallelujah Family Nite!
October 31st, 6pm-8:30pm
Want to spend Halloween with your family in a safe, fun environment?
Then come join us on October 31st. We offer a Halloween alternative which
allows kids and families to enjoy the best part of Halloween - candy, costumes, and games - without
all the scary stuff. So wear your costume, and come play games, win candy and have some fun.
Spaghetti Dinner, Cotton Candy, carnival games, and a 3-in-1 Jumper, Climber, Slide are

Family Camp
May 30-June 1st, 2008
Each year all families are welcome to join us at Family Camp! We spend a weekend together
building friendships, worshipping God, and having lots of fun together. This year’s Family Camp will be at
Redwood Glen, which provides us with a huge swimming pool, archery, baseball field, hiking, and volleyball
court. Families sleep together in cabins, and eat in the lodge. All those in the church family (and their friends)
are welcome to attend.
Children's Sunday
Each year our elementary children lead us in worship on
Mother's Day. On this special day, the children participate in all aspects
of the worship service including drama, singing, testimonies, Scripture reading,
announcements, prayers. Each year brings a new theme, and a new
lesson from God’s Word.
