The
WORLD MISSION OFFERING is vital to the work of International
Ministries. It is the single largest source of support for
some 120 American Baptist missionaries. It also helps to
support vital projects of national churches around the world that
look to IM for help as they share hope in Jesus Christ with a needy
world.
In
2004, God did an amazing work, moving American Baptists to increase
their current giving to support international mission by nearly 34%.
The momentum has continued into 2005, as people have seen the
difference that their giving can make.
We
are praying that the Lord’s Spirit will once again move American
Baptists to stretch forward for the advance of God’s Kingdom.
The goal for the 2005 WORLD MISSION OFFERING is $5.4 million,
a 10% increase over giving to the WMO in 2004. Our prayer will be
answered only as each of us lets God use us to make a
difference—both with our own giving and with our encouragement of
others.
This year’s WMO goal for Santa
Clara First Baptist Church is $5,000.
We’ll be accepting the offering October 23rd,
October 30th and November 6th.
Please give as God directs you.

About
International Ministries
IM’s
mission is to glorify God in all the earth by crossing cultural
boundaries to make followers of Jesus Christ. With your support, we
work hand in hand with national partners around the world to share
the good news of the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus.
International
Ministries’ mission work began in 1814.
This work now extends to more than 71 countries in Africa,
Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and Central and
South America
. You are helping 117 missionaries and over 170 partner churches and
ministries work together to fulfill Christ's Great Commission in all
the world.
Go
Global,
a strategic mission plan firmly rooted in the hope given to us by
Jesus Christ, guides our ministry around the world. Our highest
mission priorities are:
Evangelism
and discipleship
We
share the gospel of Jesus Christ, urge others to follow Jesus and
seek to become more obedient followers ourselves.
Christ-like
mission
We
demonstrate how the love of God in Christ responds to every human
need.
Equipping
leaders
We
encourage and prepare those whom God calls into leadership in every
local setting.
Mission
education
We
share with the whole American Baptist family what God is teaching
American Baptists and their partners through cross-cultural mission.
Urban
mission
We
seek transformation in Christ for the cities of our world.
Mission
explosion
We
help as many American Baptists as possible to join with believers
around the world as participants in God’s mission to, from and
within six continents.
