Immovable Faith

Colossians 1:21-23
THE MESSAGE: Be ROOTED in the HOPE of the GOSPEL
Jesus Reconciled You To God.
"And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled." Colossians 1:21 NKJV
THE REASON: The Divine Design Is To Present You Before God In Heaven.
So Jesus Christ may present you HOLY, BLAMELESS, and free from ACCUSATION
"...in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight." Colossians 1:22
THE PROCESS: Have A System In Place For Daily, Doable, Spiritual Disciplines (Habits).
Continue in FAITH, GROUNDED, STEADFAST, and ROOTED in the HOPE of the GOSPEL
"If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister." Colossians 1:23
Example Of A System
- Our goal was to make our kids play in a worship band.
- Our system: Pray. Sing. Worship at home. Own musical instruments. Find an instructor. Learn to play instruments and to sing.
Hope Is Not Optimism. God-made hope is living in the moment and trusting Him for the future.
THE PROGRESS: Commit to the PROCESS/SYSTEM in order to make PROGRESS.
Have Faith, show LOVE, and hold on to HOPE
"Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel." Colossians 1:4-5
Example of Commiting To A System
Practice regularly. Learn worship song chords and sing. Listen to instructions from worship leaders and learn to work as a team with other band members.
Hope Is Not a Wish. God-made hope is waiting on God as a lifestyle, and letting God do what He will do.
Faith, Hope, and Love
- Three virtues should clearly stand out and be clearly visible in a follower of Jesus Christ: Faith, Hope, and Love.
- Our Faith in Christ, not in our own confidence.
- Our heavenly Hope of an eternal inheritance.
- Our Love of Christ,and extending that love to the persecuted, rejected, and despised.
When you choose to LOVE,
Where there is hatred, fear, and rejection,
You are offering real hope.
