Jonathan Fung
Youth Pastor
February 2020

The VIBE Youth Group had a special time at Camp Sugar Pine near Yosemite over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend. Twenty-three of us, including youth mentors, left SCFBC excited to spend 4 days together – free and unburdened from the many distractions of our everyday lives.

The theme this year was “Paused.” “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14) We prayed for transformation and to draw nearer to God and more united with one another. We praise the Lord for 12 youth who made decisions to rededicate their lives to Christ. It was inspiring to see our youth making such great efforts to work at deepening their relationship with the Lord.

Our youth had fun getting closer to one another by eating meals together, hiking to the waterfall, and playing "Spoons and Apples 2 Apples" late into the night!

Pastor Jonathan spoke and taught about human trafficking and arts advocacy, two vital topics that were well-received by many youth and youth pastors. He inspired our youth to educate and raise the awareness of others who are attending their respective high schools.

Thank you for praying for us and supporting our Youth Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser, which supported most of the camp registration fees and transportation.

It was amazing that God blessed us with snow when we arrived Friday evening and throughout our entire time in camp.

Snow Camp this year was full of joy and peace, and we look forward to going again next year.
