Diaconate Chair

In June, my husband and I attended the biennial meeting of American Baptist Churches in the USA in Overland Park, Kansas. The emphasis was on being a servant church, which fits right in with our theme, “Here to Serve”. It was very inspiring to see and hear what is happening in our denomination. New missionaries are being commissioned and many other men and women have felt the call to be missionaries. We heard many stories of how God is at work both in this country and around the world. Don Ng, pastor of the San Francisco First Chinese Baptist Church in San Francisco, was elected president of ABC/USA for the two year term, 2014-2015.
We are still working on new bylaws for our congregation. You should be hearing more about these later in August. We plan to vote on adopting the new bylaws in late September. There will be several meetings where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and make suggestion prior to the vote.
