Happy Easter!
Easter Sunday was a glorious celebration at the SPEEDway! After enjoying a delicious breakfast with their families, the kids had a blast decorating eggs and making sand art crosses. During Kids' Worship, the children heard the Easter story and learned that "Jesus is Alive!" Each time they heard the lesson theme repeated, they responded with a loud "Amen!" As part of our SPEEDway tradition, worship was followed up with a huge Easter Egg Hunt. The kids had wonderful time racing across the grass to find as many eggs as possible. Thank you so much to the many wonderful volunteers who made such a wonderful Easter celebration possible for the kids.
Mother's Day
Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday, May 11th. As a way of honoring and celebrating all the important women in our lives, the children will be participating in the service. The kids will sing a special song, so remember to bring your cameras! We will also have a special gift for each woman as she enters the Sanctuary.
Summer's Coming!
As the weather is getting warmer, there's no doubt that summer is just around the corner. Looking ahead to the summer months, we have some awesomely fun plans for this year's Summer Spectacular. This summer we will be having a PIRATE theme! The lessons will focus on treasure and how real treasure is found in our relationship with Jesus. As part of the lessons, we'll also have some pirate fun including treasure hunts, treasure maps, pirate battles, and a visit from the Pirate King and Queen. So all you "mateys" start working on your "Arrrrgggggs!"
For adults and youth who want to join the pirate fun and volunteer during the summer months, please contact Jonathan Hammar at jhammar@jbear.org. Volunteers serve on a rotating basis. Supplies, training and adorable children are all provided!
