New Sidewalk

It will soon be easier to get from the Sanctuary to the Fellowship Hall. At one time it meant either walking around the lawn on the sidewalk along Benton Street or taking the risk that you could get across the lawn while avoiding any soggy grass areas.  (I have chosen poorly in the past on that decision.)  In early October we will start the ground work of preparing the sidewalk path along the new playground fence.  We are adding some slight curves to give it a nice meandering feel and as funds become available, we will landscape the area between the sidewalk and the fence.

Acoustic Panels

Towards the end of October we will be receiving additional acoustic panels that will be installed on the north wall of the Fellowship Hall, dispersed between the kitchen and exit door. (Don't worry; the panels will not be pink as depicted in the photo to the right.)  This is part of an ongoing project to make the listening environment in the Fellowship Hall more tolerable when large groups use the room. The panels we put in earlier this year were part of Phase 1. After we evaluate how these new Phase II panels work, we will decide if we will add additional panels on the west wall.

Projects for 2016

As we prepare the 2016 budget, the Property Department has been busy working on plans for other campus improvements.  Some of the big projects for 2016 are planned to be:

  • Youth Room remodel with air conditioning
  • Air conditioning for the Fireside Room/Kids Worship area
  • Remodel of the Fellowship Hall lobby
  • Remodel the Fellowship Hall restrooms
  • New counters and cabinets for the Preschool and K-1 classrooms
  • Sanctuary parking lot lights upgrade
  • Office AC/Heater upgrade
