KIDZ in Bible Land

In the photo on the left, you see Martha Tejera helping our younger elementary kids write the scripture verse of the day in their journals. I am grateful for people like Martha and the more than 50 volunteers who invest their time in discipling and shaping the children at KidZone.

October in KidZone was about listening, as we played the age-old game like "Telephone Game," and learned about Balaam and the talking donkey. We make KIDZone fun as we apply math and measure materials for different projects. In October,  we also made worship shakers during a lesson about the Israelites worshiping the golden calf.

I love seeing our youth helping the younger kidz (bottom picture). The kidz like having our youth and young adults spend time with them. Our young people are good role models and they also are learning to serve by helping in KIDZone.

Basically, KID Zone is fun and interactive, as we go about creating crafts, playing games, and learning about the Bible during the large-group Bible story time and the Bible verse journal time. Even the snacks are based on stories in the Bible! Think about having "Promised Land" fruits (pomegranates, grapes, figs and Fig Newtons:) and learning to stand firm like Joshua and Caleb did. Bible stories come alive as we connect them to real-life stuff.

We are going to focus on the "Book of Joshua" in November:

November 4: Joshua Becomes Leader of Israel
(Joshua 1:1-11)

November 11: Joshua Sends Spies to Jericho
(Joshua 2:1-24)

November 18: The Israelites Cross the Jordan River (Joshua 3:1-4:24)

November 25: God Gives Victory Over Jericho (Joshua 6:1-27)

And Mark Your Calendars for December 16! The KIDZ Christmas party is that Sunday!
