This young man had no peace and no job. Then, everything changed within a week. God showed up and here's the young man's story:
Last month, a young man came to our campus looking for the pastor. I was in a meeting, sitting outside the office, and happened to see two young men walking toward their car. I said, "How can I help you?" They said, "We needed to talk to someone, but that's okay." I politely asked the person I was meeting with if I could pray with them. "Sure. Yes, go ahead," the person said. I called the young men back to pray with them.
One of them said, "I have no peace and no job. I need prayer." As I was about to pray, the Spirit prompted me to say, "Jesus offers peace and life abundantly. Do you know that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life?" Long story short, the young man decided to become a follower of Jesus.
Next, we prayed for a job. He mentioned that he had been searching for jobs for several months and had sent out many resumes. He was waiting and hoping some companies would call back. I said, "God is going to open the door for you. When you get the job, remember that God gave it to you on this day."
This happened on a Monday. I asked him to come back on Thursday of the following week. I told him that I pray with a group of dedicated and compassionate people every Thursday morning. He came back on Thursday, and shared with the group that he had received a verbal job offer that week, and was now waiting for the official contract. He texted me on Friday, saying that the official contract had come, and that the company wanted him to start on Monday.
My desire was for this young man to see and experience God working in his everyday life. God showed Himself to this young man in the most relevant way. I am proud to worship and follow God, who I can see and experience in my own everyday life.
