H.O.P.E. Silicon Valley Book Giveaway
WOW, that was fun! Thank you to Maria, Daphne, Susan, Frank, Ross, and Stacey – and everyone else who helped, but who I may have forgotten to mention here – for all your help boxing, loading and giving away 25 boxes of books during H.O.P.E. Silicon Valley 2018 on August 5th.
Yes, we gave away twice as many books as we gave away last year. People from many different nations and of all ages were gleefully digging through the boxes to find treasures just waiting for new readers. What a pleasure it was to be part of the second annual H.O.P.E. Silicon Valley. And Thank You! for your generous book donations that made the success possible. The books that remained after the giveaway will be given to the SCFBC October Rummage Sale, which supports Bethlehem 2018.
How to Find the Perfect Book for You in the Church Library
It's easy to find the perfect book for you and your kids in the church library. Just go online to the church website at scfbc.org. Under Resources, click on the Library page. On the left side of the page, next to a photo of the library's DVD collection, click Search here! Then, in the blank box at the top of the page that opens, enter the name, author or subject of the book, DVD or CD you're looking for. Finally, click on the "magnifying glass" icon. If you see "Sorry, no records found. Please try again," then that item is not in the library. And, if the book, CD, or DVD you're looking for is in the library's collection, you will see the name, the call number, and usually a photo of the cover.
Then, you're ready to visit the library in person, and check it out!
How to Visit the Library and Check Out Items
The library is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. To see the great collection of books, CDs, DVDs and more, please visit or call the church office at 408-241-7635.
On Sundays during Sunday Grill (through September 9), the library is almost always open. And every Sunday, before or after the service, is the perfect time to see what's in this month's selection of books and other materials in the "Book Nook." The Book Nook is located in the church lobby.

Are You a Fan of "National Geographic Magazine?"
The library now has the collection of "National Geographic Magazine" covering the years from 1888 to the 1990s. The collection consists of 30 CD-ROM multimedia disks compatible on both Macintosh and PC computers.
Currently, the only time limit for checking out this collection is when someone else makes a request to borrow it. We'll then contact you, asking that you please return it to the library within two weeks. Otherwise, you can take all the time you need to read the 108 years of great stories, extraordinary photos, and maps that show how much the geography of the world has changed since 1888!
