THE BIBLE

All of the libraries in Santa Clara County are currently closed as we all "Shelter in Place." So what can we do when we want to read a book? Well, think about it: The Bible itself is a library, with its collection of 66 books written by various people at various times.

In 2 Timothy 3:16, Paul states, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteous." Reading doesn't get any better than that!

When we read the Bible, we are seeing the truths of Scripture as they come directly from God, rather than from the minds of the writers who wrote each book. God inspired each author to record what He revealed to him or her. In James 1:17, James proclaims: "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

Now is the perfect time to join with others who are doing the church's daily Bible reading online. You can read each day's Scripture, which you will receive as an email or text every morning. You can then read the daily Scripture on your computer, on your phone, or in your Bible. There's no better time, and no more important time than now, to read God's Word and meditate upon it.

DO YOU NEED A BIBLE?

If you would like to have a Bible, just send me an email at jerri@scfbc.org. Or call the church office at 408-241-7635 and we will make sure you get a Bible. Pastor Valui usually uses the New King James Version (NKJV), but we also have other versions to give you. What is most important is that we read the Bible, understand what it is saying to us, and apply its messages to our daily lives.
