Welcome to the first in a series of Celebrate! articles about Plants, Flowers & Ephemeral Delights that you'll find in various locations within walking distance of the church.

Almost all of this month's photos were taken on Sunday afternoon, the 22nd of March, in Gladys MacFarland's front yard. Gladys is a long-time member of the church. In fact, a friend said that she is one of the longest standing members of our church, joining in 1957. At that time, the church was located at 1755 Catherine Street, which is about two blocks from the Santa Clara Civic Center.

We hope you enjoy this ‘Virtual Visit’ to see the plants, flowers, trees, and perhaps a  hummingbird or two in Gladys' front yard.

The photo above shows a plant whose name I do not know. I'll be asking Gladys the next time I visit with her. The photo was altered in Adobe Photoshop Elements to create the look of a watercolor painting.

THE TWO FEATURED BLOSSOMS

Gladys wanted photos of two flowers that were blooming in her front yard.

Most important were the Clivia plants.

And second, were the Bluebells.
