Family Life Team
August 2020

Elementary K through 5th Grade

Vacation Bible School (VBS) has been a busy and exciting addition to our summer Family Life activities, but it's our Sunday KID Zone Zoom sessions that still hold a special place in my heart. In this smaller setting, I get to hear from the kids, and we get to learn and laugh together. Recently, we learned how to play Pictionary on Zoom. Can you guess these animals that the kids drew? Answers below!

We are still deep in the Old Testament, where in July we learned from Isaiah; Josiah; the trio of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; and Daniel. God is holy, and His Word changes our lives. He protects us, and we should stand strong for God. In August, we will continue learning about a difficult time in Israelite history:

August 2: God Promises to Restore Israel After the Exile (Jeremiah 29:4-14)

August 9: Nehemiah Seeks God's Forgiveness for Israel (Nehemiah 1:1-2:9)

August 16: Nehemiah Rebuilds the Wall (Nehemiah 2:11-6:19)

August 23: Esther Saves Her People (Esther 2-9)

August 30: Job Remains Faithful in Suffering (Job 1:1 through 2:10; 42:1-6 and 10-17)

What can we learn from people who lived so long ago? Join us each Sunday to find out!
