INTRODUCTION

To Live Like Jesus, Seek After The Things He Sought After. So That All The Things God Had Planned And Prepared For You Will Be Added To You

In this sermon we will closely follow Jesus to study how he looked at the world he lived in. We look at how Jesus took initiative and sought after the Samaritan woman. I will layer the event in John chapter 4 with an encounter with a Buddhist woman. Jesus was able to meet the need of the Samaritan. My wife Margareth and I were able to connect the Buddhist woman to Jesus, who also met her need.

BE ATTRACTIVE: ATTRACT PEOPLE BY BEING DIFFERENT

"He left Judea and departed again to Galilee. But He needed to go through Samaria." John 4:3-4

DO NOT AVOID PEOPLE because they are different
Tax Collectors And Sinners Were Attracted To Jesus. Luke 15:1
Jesus Did Not Avoid The Hostility Of The Samaritans

BE ATTRACTIVE: ATTRACT PEOPLE BY TAKING THE INITIATIVE

"A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, 'Give Me a drink.'" John 4:7

DO NOT AVOID PEOPLE because they seem lowly
Jesus Initiated The Conversation
Jesus Ate And Drank With Tax Collectors And Sinners. Luke 5:30

BE ATTRACTIVE: ATTRACT PEOPLE WITH ACCEPTANCE

"Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, 'How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?' For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.'" John 4:9

DO NOT REJECT PEOPLE because they are of a different RACE
Jesus Broke The Barrier Of Race And Gender
Jesus Hung Out With A Samaritan Woman

BE ATTRACTIVE: ATTRACT PEOPLE BY INCLUSION

"The woman said to Him, 'Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.'" John 4:19

DO NOT EXCLUDE PEOPLE because they are not from First Baptist Church

Jesus Said The Center Of Worship Is God Not Jerusalem
The House Of God Is For All Nations

BE ATTRACTIVE: ATTRACT PEOPLE TO JESUS

"The woman said to Him, 'I know that Messiah is coming (who is called Christ). When He comes, He will tell us all things.' Jesus said to her, 'I who speak to you am He.'" John 4:25-26

DO NOT SHUN PEOPLE because Jesus came to save all
Jesus Revealed Himself To The Rejected
Jesus Came To Seek And Save That Which Was Lost

BE ATTRACTIVE: ATTRACT PEOPLE BY YOUR TRANSFORMED LIFE

"The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 'Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?' And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, 'He told me all that I ever did.'" John 4:28, 29, 39

Could this be the Christ?
DO NOT CONTROL THE GOOD NEWS because you think people are unworthy
Jesus Showed The Samaritan Woman Was Worthy Of The Good News
Jesus Transformed The Woman With The Good News

CONCLUSION

Be A COMPLETE PERSON and Make Others BECOME COMPLETE PERSONS.
You can make that happen by looking at Jesus and attracting people to Jesus.
