Luke 24
"And they said to one another, 'Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?'" Luke 24:32
INTRODUCTION
The resurrection of Jesus gives you a new life, a new heart. A burning heart is a powerful heart. This spiritual powerful heart is a place of creativity, initiative and collaboration; it is a place of vision and dreams. You can live with a powerful heart when you give your heart to God. A burning heart, a heart on fire with the Gospel fire is the difference between merely knowing God's power and living fully in God's power.
BACKGROUND
"The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again." Luke 24:7
THE MESSAGE
"And they said to one another, 'Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?'" Luke 24:32
LIVING IN THE POWER OF CHRIST' RESURRECTION
Let's start with these questions.
Do you know the state of your heart?
Do you know where your heart is?
Have you lost your heart?
A BURNING HEART
"And they said to one another, 'Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road and while He opened the Scriptures to us?'" Luke 24:32
A Burning Heart Is A Resurrected Heart.
What Must I Do?
Give your heart to God.
"My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways." Proverbs 23:26
God opens your mind when you give your heart to Him."Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight." Luke 24:31
A DULL HEART
"Then He said to them, 'O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!'" Luke 24:25
An unresurrected heart is a dull, slow heart.
A dull heart clogs the mind.
What Must I Do?
In order to fire up your mind, you must first find your heart.
"Then opened He their mind, that they might understand the Scriptures" Luke 24:45Give your heart to God.
"My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways." Proverbs 23:26
A DOUBTING HEART
"And He said to them, 'Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts.'" Luke 24:38
An unresurrected heart is a doubting heart.
A heart that wavers, a heart that is divided, a heart that is offbeat will become a dead heart.
What Must I Do?
To live in the power of His resurrection, you will need to give your heart to Jesus.
"My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways." Proverbs 23:26When your heart beats in uniformity, in sync with the purpose of your existence, you will live a fulfilling life.
"And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures." Luke 24:45
CONCLUSION
Do you know the state of your heart?
Do you know where your heart is?
Have you lost your heart?
When the heart stops, everything stops.
When the heart is halved, everything is conflicted.
When the heart is cold, everything is hardened.
A burning heart and a restless heart are two different things.
A burning heart awakens the mind.
A restless heart creates an anxious mind.
Give you heart to God. Let God set your heart on fire and live in the power of His resurrection.
