Jesus is the King

The Gospel of Matthew

1. Mathew presented the visible king of an invisible kingdom.
2. Jesus came to establish His invisible kingdom to His visible subjects with a promise of new heavens and a new earth.
3. Jesus is the key to the kingdom of God
4. Jesus is the king of the natural and supernatural world.

The Visible King And The Invisible Kingdom

The coming of Jesus as the king ended 400 years of God's silence, and fulfilled the prophecy. "I am going to send you Elijah."

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD." Malachi 4:5

"And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come." Matthew 11:14

Jesus was presented as the king who has power over all illness and sickness.

"And all the multitudes were amazed and said, 'Could this be the Son of David?'

'But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.'" Matthew 12:23 & 28

The Kingdom Of Heaven Is Like...
"He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" Matthew 11:15

Jesus preached about the kingdom in parables. To hear and to receive the kingdom is a matter of the heart.

The Sower And The Soil, The Wheat And The Tares

Both of the parables are about cultivating. Cultivating what? The truth.

1. Jesus sowed the truth.
2. The devil sowed what is counterfeit and what deceives people.

Truth is foundational to both physical and mental rest, because it sets you free.
Genuine faith will build you up, while fake faith will burn you out.

Inauguration And Consummation

The establishment of Jesus' kingdom is directly linked to the promise of a future eternal kingdom. Jesus linked His kingdom to gentleness, meekness and humility. Matthew 11:28-30

Invisible Made Visible

Jesus' invisible kingdom is more spiritual, rather than physical. The presence of the invisible kingdom was made visible by healing and casting out demons.

"But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all." Matthew 12:15

The Mystery Of The Kingdom

1. It is like the Mustard Seed. Matthew 31-32 (Growth: Outward)
2. It Is like the Leaven. Matthew 33 (Transformation for the better: Internal)

When the kingdom of God comes upon you, there is an internal transformation and outward growth.

Jesus Is The Key To The Kingdom Of God

The kingdom of God is here but it is hidden like a treasure.

1. Treasure: Matthew 13:44 (Value) Hidden/Invisible
2. The Costly Pearl: Matthew 13:45-46 (Worth) Searching

"The kingdom of God is like a hidden treasure. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:21

"You see, the kingdom of God is like a dragnet. Spread the good news to all humankind...." Matthew 13:47-50

Evangelism is our responsibility, eternal life is by God's authority.

It is written that the kingdom of God is like "A Householder." Mathew 13:52

Give your best to everyone and make the "Ancient, New."
The kingdom of God is Ancient and New.

JESUS Is King Of The Natural and Supernatural World

"Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God" Matthew 14:33
