The IMPossible Miracle
More Singing, Less Sighing
Sunday December 15th, 2019 - Pastor Wungreiso Valui
When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you will sing praises to the Lord. To be filled with the Holy Spirit, you must believe that Jesus is the beloved Son of God.
- If we keep singing God's love,
- If we keep singing the Good News,
- If we keep singing peace and goodwill toward humankind,
- Peace on earth is possible. For with God, nothing is impossible.
Singing: A proclamation of joy, praise, gladness, and triumph.
Sighing: An expression of grief and physical distress.
God Commanded You to Sing
"Be filled with the Holy Spirit, speak to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord." (Ephesians 5:18)
How can you speak in psalms? How can you speak in hymns and spiritual songs?
Elizabeth Spoke In Psalms
Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, sang, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" (Luke 1:42-43)
If any one of you is cheerful, let him sing.
"Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord." (Luke 1:45)
Mary Spoke In Hymns
Mary spoke to Elizabeth in psalms:
My soul Magnifies to the Lord. My spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior I am Blessed. God has scattered the proud. He put down the mighty from their thrones. God Exalted the lowly and Filled the hungry.(Luke 1:46-55)
Today, the hungry, the lowly, and the weak identify with Mary. Mary's sighing was turned to singing.
What did Mary & Elizabeth "Filled with the Holy Spirit" do?
- 1. They proclaimed what they believed.
- 2. They sang praises to the Lord.
- 3. They gave thanks to God for His mighty work.
- 4. They surrendered to the will of God.
"I will sing to the Lord as long as I live, I will sing praises to my God while I have being." (Psalm 104:33)
God commanded you to sing. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit you will:
- 1. Proclaim.
- 2. Sing praise.
- 3. Give thanks.
- 4. Surrender.
"If anyone among you is suffering, let him pray. If anyone among you is cheerful, let him sing praise." (James 5:13)
