Here are ten fun facts about the human body

The Body of Christ

We believe the Church, a diverse community formed and led by Jesus, works together to continue His work in the world.
Therefore we will work together, each doing our part to continue Jesus' work.

The foundation of the church is Jesus.

Matthew 16:17-18 (NIV)

Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

It's Christ's church ("I will build my church")

Christ will build His church ("on this rock I will build...")

The nature of God's church is found in its people

1 Corinthians 12:12- 13 (NIV)

The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body-whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free-and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

We are all the church (the unity in our diversity)

We are not one part but many (the diversity in our unity)

1 Corinthians 12:14-18 (NIV)

Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
