Immortal Hope

Revelation 21, 22

"Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' And He said to me, 'Write, for these words are true and faithful.'" Revelation 2:5

THE MESSAGE

Jesus is the Maker and Author of all things new - a new creation. Jesus is synonymous with NEW: A new covenant, a new creation, a new thing. If you believe Jesus is the Son of God, He will give you a new life and make all things new.

LOSSES AND CHOICES

When we experience losses, we have two choices: One is to live with bitter anger, resentment and disillusionment at our endless losses. The other choice is to look for a path that leads to the discovery of something deeper - something new - and choose that path to a new life.

The first thing to consider is the truth that JESUS WILL MAKE ALL THINGS NEW.

JESUS WILL MAKE ALL THINGS NEW

"Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' And He said to me, 'Write, for these words are true and faithful.'" Revelation 21:5

1. "... a new heaven and a new earth and no more sea." Revelation 21:1
2. God will dwell with His people. There will be no more separation.
3. God will wipe away every tear from His people. There will be no more death, no more sorrow, no more crying, and no more pain.

"And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.'" Revelation 21:3-4

The second thing to consider is the truth that "JESUS THE LAMB IS THE LIGHT."

JESUS, THE LAMB, IS THE LIGHT

"The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light." Revelation 21:23

1. Jesus will make a new thing: The glory of God will illuminate heaven and The Lamb is its light.
2. Walk in the LIght. You can choose to live your life by what you can see by the Light, not by what is in the darkness.
3. Claim the light in your life. Claiming the light does not mean denying the darkness, but choosing not to live in it.

The third thing to consider is this truth: "I WILL COME QUICKLY."

JESUS WILL COME QUICKLY

"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last." (Revelation 22: 12-13)

The Time Is Near

1. Jesus will come like a thief in the night.
2. God is longing to bring His people home. He is longing to bring you home. He is longing to bring everyone home.
3. The hope that every child of God and every follower of Jesus wants to hear is "Come."
4. The promise of God to His children is "I will come quickly."
5. The invitation of Jesus is "Come unto me."

Sin shows the distance between God and humankind.
The Cross bridges that distance and brings sinners over to God.

"COME" is the invitation of the GOSPEL.
I AM COMING QUICKLY is the intention of JESUS.

The promise of God is safe with God.

Surely Jesus is coming quickly, and He promised to reward us according to our works.
