THE KEY MESSAGE

Discipleship is ROOTED in the word, in prayer, and in relationships with Christ and people. To Disciple someone requires planning.

LESSONS ON DISCIPLESHIP FROM ABRAHAM

"Be careful never to take my son back there!" Abraham told him. "The Lord, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and the land of my relatives, promised me with a solemn oath, 'To your descendants I will give this land.' He will send his angel before you so that you may find a wife for my son from there (Genesis 24: 6-7).

DISCIPLESHIP IS ROOTED IN THE WORD

  1. Plan To Proclaim The Word
  2. Plan To Read The Word Of God Diligently: Use The Word Of God To Disciple Others
  3. Plan By Faith And Commit Your Plans To The Lord: Use Your Faith To Disciple Others
The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty (Proverbs 21:5).
Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established (Proverbs 16:3).
Then he said, "O Lord God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham. Behold, here I stand by the well of water, and the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water. Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say, 'Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,' and she says, 'Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink'-let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master" (Genesis 24:12-14).

DISCIPLESHIP IS ROOTED IN PRAYER

  1. Plan To Pray Always
  2. Plan Your Prayer Life: David Prayed Seven Times A Day. Pray To God And Ask Him To Guide You
  3. Plan On What To Pray For: Abraham's Servant Was Very Specific. Pray And Be Specific
So they called Rebekah and asked her, "Do you want to go with this man?" She replied, "I want to go." (Genesis 24:58)
After the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a beka and two gold wrist bracelets weighing ten shekels and gave them to her (Genesis 24:22) .
Then he brought out gold, silver jewelry, and clothing and gave them to Rebekah. He also gave valuable gifts to her brother and to her mother (Genesis 24:53).

DISCIPLE IS ROOTED IN RELATIONSHIPS

  1. Plan Well
  2. Plan Your Relationships: Be Prepared
  3. Plan Your Story: Be Real. Share Your Personal Story
