Joshua 1:7

THE PASSAGE

"Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go."- Joshua 1:7
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." -Matthew 6:33

THE MESSAGE

Reset your priorities to God's priorities.
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness

"Only be strong and very courageous"

  1. Set your priorities to God's priorities and have the courage to obey.
  2. The most daring priority in the Christian life is daring to obey Christ.

What do we do?

First establish-

  1. What is it that you care about the most? What is it that you seek after?
  2. Jesus said. "Seek first the kingdom of God."
  3. The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17)

Then-

  1. Start seeking with an earnest prayer.
  2. Start crying to God for help.
  3. Start seeking by faith.

"That you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you"

  1. Set your priorities with clarity. God's priorities are your priorities.
  2. Obedience is the practical courage to reset to God's priorities
  3. The Kingdom of God is New Life, Freedom, Union With Christ and Power of The Holy Spirit.

When Do We Do That?

  1. Seek new life every day
  2. Seek freedom every day
  3. Seek union with Christ every day
  4. Seek the power of the Holy Spirit every day

"Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left"

  1. Set your priorities on God and neither to the left or the right
  2. Be strong and courageous not to be led away from God's priorities

Examples:

  1. Seek to obey, not to be a master.
  2. Seek to be right, not to be rich.
  3. Seek to be just, not to be wealthy.

How Do We Do That?

  1. Seek first in the order of degree.
  2. Seek first God's character.

Examples:

  1. If you desire a partner, a mate, seek it.
  2. Seek God first, He knows it is a good thing to have a spouse.
  3. If you desire a job, seek it.
  4. Seek God first. He is the one who will bring your plans together.

"That you may prosper wherever you go"

  1. Set your priorities to God's priorities for true prosperity.
  2. Be willing to give up everything to seek God first for 'all these things' to be added unto you.

According to the Bible, God desires you to be righteous and to have joy and peace in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)

Why Do We Need To Do That?

  1. That you may prosper
  2. That God may cause "all these things" to be added to you

How Shall I Live This Week?

  • 1. Seek to enjoy all the privileges in the kingdom of God.
  • 2. Seek to spread the privileges of the kingdom of God.
  • 3. Seek to live in the righteousness of Jesus.
  • 4. Seek to live right with everyone through Christ.

And

All things necessary for your life will come to you.
