Use The Power Of The Holy Spirit To Build Your Faith
Sunday May 23, 2021 - Pastor Wungreiso Valui
Acts 2

THE MESSAGE

Stay connected to the Holy Spirit, reboot, and rebuild your faith.
The Holy Spirit has the power to hold all things together.

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." -Acts 1:8

Two reasons why the Holy Spirit came

  • 1. The Holy Spirit came to testify of Jesus.
  • 2. The Holy Spirit came to give power to the followers of Jesus to His witness.

The impact of the coming of the Holy Spirit

  • 1. The coming of the Holy Spirit is a fulfillment of Christ's promise.
  • 2. The fulfillment of Christ's promise is Good News.
  • 3. The Holy Spirit gave power to the followers of Jesus primarily to spread the Good News.

How can sharing the Good News build your faith?

The Good News comes with power.

"For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance." -1 Thessalonians 1:5

The Good News has the power to change the courses of your daily life.

"Cut to the heart" -Acts 2:37

Sharing Good News is good for the broken hearts.

    1. Brokenness is where wholeness begins.
    2. The Good News can extend and expand positive experiences.
"Repent and be baptized" -Acts 2:38

Sharing Good News is better than bonding over complaints and gossip.

    1. The Good News frees us from being a slave to the bad.
    2. Sharing positive experiences can make relationships stronger.
"Gladly received his word" -Acts 2:41

Sharing the Good News is worthwhile not just for oneself but for the whole community.

    1. Joy multiplies when you share it.
    2. Happiness multiplies when you share it with others.
"Three thousand souls were added to them" -Acts 2:41

Sharing the Good News increases the acceptance of others.

    1. When you share the Good News, it communicates that you value the person.
"Now all who believed were together" -Acts 2:44

Sharing the Good News creates a sense of belonging.

    1. Create a sense of belonging without excluding others.
    2. Reject the idea that there must be those who don't belong in order to create those who belong.
"And had all things in common" -Acts 2:44

Sharing the Good News inspires and empowers people to contribute to social change.

    1. Kindness is good news and it can have far-reaching rippling effects.
    2. Focusing on bad news isn't always the most effective way to inspire people to contribute to social change.
"So continuing daily with one accord" -Acts 2:46

Sharing the Good News creates a sense of community

    1. Good News brings people together.
"And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved" -Acts 2:47

Sharing the Good News is better than writing it down.

    1. Sharing the Good News has greater benefits than writing it down to remember it.

Build Your Faith In God's Promises.

    1. Jesus kept his promise
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name..." -John 14:26
"But when the Helper comes... He will testify of Me" -John 15:26
    1. Promises are a vital part of building trust and relationships.
    2. The power to fulfill every promise of God is a powerful thing.

    Exercise Your Faith Consistently

    1. Exercise your faith by sharing the good news daily, studying the Word daily, praying daily, and sharing your life with others daily.

Keep Trusting The Gospel-the Good News.

    1. Do not be embarrassed by the Good News.
    2. Do not be ashamed of the Good News.
    3. The Gospel changes life every day, every week, every month, and every year.

The Good News comes with power.

"For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance." -1 Thessalonians 1:5
