The Seven Rhythms
Sacrificial Generosity
Sunday January 26, 2025 - Pastor Wungreiso Valui
2 Corinthians 9:7
Scripture Text: So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7, NKJV).
Message: Sacrificial generosity flows from a heart transformed by God, where giving becomes an act of worship rather than an obligation.
A Spiritual Rhythm-Sacrificial Generosity: "So let each one give as he purposes in his heart"
Rhythm of Faith: "not grudgingly."
- Trusting God as the ultimate provider allows believers to give sacrificially, even when resources seem limited.
- And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Rhythm of Surrender: "or of necessity"
- Sacrificial generosity is part of a rhythm of surrender, aligning our priorities with God's will and letting go of worldly attachments.
- "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21)
Rhythm of Blessing: "for God loves a cheerful giver"
As believers give sacrificially, they participate in the rhythm of blessing, experiencing God's provision and becoming a blessing to others.
"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom" (Luke 6:38)
Reflecting Christ's Example
Sacrificial generosity mirrors the ultimate act of giving-Jesus' sacrifice for humanity.
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich." (2 Corinthians 8:9).
Sacrificial Generosity flows from God's Divine Rhythm.
