SERVICE IN THREE DIMENSIONS

• 1. Acts 2:44-45 - All things in common: Service as Community Expression
  1. This word (Koinonia) defines our key expression -Service flows out of community
• 2. Galatians 5:13 - "Through love serve one another." Service as Identity
  1. This word defines who we are - Before hands serve, the self is surrendered.
• 3. Acts 6 - "Serve tables" Service as Practical Structured Ministry
  1. This word defines what we do: Practical, organized, embodied service

3 Dimensions: Doulos (identity) ? Diakonia (action) ? Kononia (Expression)

BIG IDEA: Christian service begins with surrendered hearts (Gal 5), is expressed through loving community (Acts 2), and is sustained through Spirit-filled ministry structures (Acts 6).

Acts 2:44-45 - Community Expression

"All who believed were together... and shared as anyone had need."

Question:

Where do you feel God calling you to do good works? How is God inviting you to open your life and resources, so our community can experience His love in tangible ways?

Galatians 5:13 - Identity

"Through love serve one another."

Question:

If I truly belong to Christ and to one another, how should that reshape the way I serve our community in love? What is your motive to serve?

Acts 6 - Action

"Choose men... full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom... whom we may appoint over this business."
