Isaiah 32

Main Point: When the righteous King reigns, righteousness produces peace, confidence, security, and fruitful living.

Focus: Isaiah 32:1 "Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule with justice."

Isaiah 32 - Three-Part Movement

• 1. Confidence Under the Righteous King - Isaiah 32:1-8
• 2. Complacency Without God - Isaiah 32:9-14
• 3. Change Through the Holy Spirit - Isaiah 32:15-20

1. Confidence Under the Righteous King - Isaiah 32:1-8

1. The righteous King rules with justice and becomes a hiding place, a cover from the storm, River in a dry place, and a shadow of a great Rock in a weary land.
2. Under His reign, people see clearly, listen carefully, understand wisely, and speak truthfully. Foolishness is exposed, and noble character is honored.
3. Truth: True confidence comes from living under the righteous rule of Jesus.
4. Righteousness: What area of your life needs to be made right according to God's Word?

2. Complacency Without God - Isaiah 32:9-14

1. The people felt comfortable and assumed that everything would continue as usual. Their comfort created false security and made them spiritually careless.
2. God called them to rise, listen, and respond before it was too late.
3. Complacency: What important spiritual decision are you postponing?
4. False Security: Are you trusting God or depending on comfortable circumstances?
5. Truth: Complacency grows when comfort replaces dependence on God.

3. Change Through the Holy Spirit - Isaiah 32:15-20

1. The turning point comes when the Spirit is poured out from on high. The wilderness becomes fruitful, justice dwells among the people, and righteousness produces peace.
2. "The work of righteousness will be peace,
3. and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever."- Isaiah 32:17
4. Spirit: What part of your heart or life needs the Holy Spirit to transform?
5. Assurance: Is your confidence based on comfortable circumstances or God's faithfulness?
6. Peace: Are you seeking temporary comfort or the lasting peace that comes from living rightly?
7. Truth: The Holy Spirit transforms barren lives into fruitful lives marked by righteousness and peace.

Big Question: Am I living confidently under the righteous King, or have I become too comfortable to listen, obey, and change? What do I treasure most right now?

Next Step: Choose God's presence over one temporary desire. Identify one thing God has been asking you to do that you have postponed-and take one step of obedience this week. For example: Begin reading God's Word every day.

Don't wait until the last minute. Trust the King, wake up from complacency, and let the Holy Spirit change you.
