Can God's Promise Be Trusted?
Sunday October 11, 2026 - Pastor Wungreiso Valui
Romans 9-11
ROMANS 9 - THE PAIN OF REJECTION
"...I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh,"- Romans 9:1-3
Reason: Paul carries deep sorrow for his own people.
Q. Why did Paul experience such deep sorrow for his people? Do we share his burden for those who are spiritually lost?
Reflect: Do I grieve for the spiritual condition of my family, friends, and people who do not know Christ?
ROMANS 10 - THE PURSUIT OF THE GOSPEL
"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved."- Romans 10:1
Reason: Paul continues to pray, proclaim the gospel, and long for their salvation.
Q. How should we respond when our family members, friends, or neighbors repeatedly reject the gospel?
Reflect: Am I still praying for and pursuing those who have rejected the gospel?
ROMANS 11 - THE HOPE OF THE REMNANT
"Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace."- Romans 11:5
Reason: God preserves a remnant by grace and remains faithful to His redemptive promises.
Q. What does the remnant teach us about God's faithfulness, grace, and promises?
Reflect: Have I given up on someone whom God may still be drawing to Himself?
NEXT STEP - WHO'S YOUR ONE? This week, take three intentional steps:
PRAY: Identify ONE person who needs Jesus. Pray for that person by name every day.
PURSUE: Reach out with love through a conversation, message, invitation, or act of kindness.
PERSEVERE: Even if the person is not receptive, continue to love, pray, and trust God's work.
Challenge: Who is your ONE, and what will you do to help that person take one step closer to Jesus?
