H.O.P.E Silicon Valley
Prayer
Live Like Christ, Live With Christ
Sunday July 23rd, 2017 - Pastor Wungreiso Valui
Matthew 25:31-46

H.O.P.E. SV is a vision inspired by the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:31-46.
Santa Clara First Baptist Church is "Building Hope in Silicon Valley." The vision of H.O.P.E. is vividly described by Jesus Christ.

"Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." (Matthew 25:34-36, 40).

These words define our present vision and the envisioned future: "Live like Christ to Live with Christ."

Start Here: Identity Checklists
In order for us to enter the kingdom of God we have to identify with Christ. So if we are followers of Jesus, then we live by what He taught and How He lived.
  • Jesus identified with the hungry
  • Jesus identified with the thirsty
  • Jesus identified with the stranger
  • Jesus identified with the naked
  • Jesus identified with the sick
  • Jesus identified with those in prison
To identify with
  • The hungry

Next Step Outreach: We participate in the Outreach initiatives to build hope and bridge opportunities.

PRAYER MATTERS

The Prayer Life of Jesus As Perfect Model- Dr.Dubs (Wungreiso)

Jesus Prayed For The City
Luke 19:41
Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it

He Wept Because He Prayed
Psalms 122:6
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they prosper who love you.

Do You Pray For Your City?
Jeremiah 29:7
And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

Who Will Stand In The Gap?

Jesus Taught To Pray For Provisions
Matthew 6:11
Give us this day our daily bread

Why? God Knows Our Need
Matthew 6:31-32
"Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear? For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things."

Why? God Is Good
Matthew 7:9-11
"Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
"Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Jesus Blessed The Provision
Matthew 14:19
Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes

Mark 8:6-7
So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and they set them before the multitude. They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them.

Matthew 26:26-27
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." 27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.

Jesus Taught Us How To Pray
Matthew 6:9-13
9 "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

Why Pray? Prayer reveals our core identity.
Our personal prayers reveal our deep personal character. We are what we pray for.
