Running Without Becoming Weary
Sunday January 21st, 2018 - Pastor Wungreiso Valui
1 Corinthians 9: 24-27

"Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified." 1 Corinthians 9: 24-27

INTRODUCTION: TWO THINGS ABOUT RUNNING

  • 1. THE CONDITIONS SET FOR THE RUNNERS
  • 2. THE CONDITION OF THE RUNNERS

START RIGHT

The Runners Must Run With A Goal
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize?
What is your goal?

The Runner Must Run Smart
Run in such a way that you may obtain it.
Are you running toward your goal?

STAY IN THE LANE

The Runner Must Run In The Assigned Lane
And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things.
Are you staying in the lane assigned by God?

The Runner Must Run With Certainty
Therefore I run thus not with uncertainty.
Are you running aimlessly?

FINISH RIGHT

The Runner Must Be Disciplined To Finish The Race
I discipline my body and bring it into subjection.
How are you disciplining your body?

The Runner Must Not Be Disqualified
...lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
Are you running to win the prize?
