The dreamer experiences the future in the present.
  • 3. God's Dream Is A Potential Future Yet To Become A Present Reality

THE MESSAGE

  1. Santa Clara First Baptist Church is called to make a difference locally and globally.
"We must be global Christians with a global vision because our God is a global God" (John Stott).

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN GOD SPEAKS TO YOU IN A DREAM

  • 1. You Are Responsible For Your Dream
    1. You could be hated because God gave you a dream: "Here comes the dreamer."
    2. Joseph was hated for his dreams (Genesis 37:6-9).
    3. Why would Joseph tell another dream?
    4. Joseph's action appeared to be immature, insensitive, and imprudent. Or did Joseph know what he was doing all along?
    5. When God speaks to us in a dream, we are responsible for the dream.
  • 2. God's Dream Impacts The Present
    1. When God speaks to us in a dream, we are responsible for the dream.
"Then He said, "Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream." Numbers 12:6.
    2. Joseph wasn't insensitive, immature or imprudent. He was simply claiming his dream. Joseph was claiming his future right then and there.
  • 3. Viewing The Future And Experiencing It Right Here And Now
    1. When a dreamer dreams God's dream,
    2. the dreamer is viewing the future and experiencing it right here and now.
    3. Inspiration not inaction
  • 4. Potential Future And Present Reality
    1. A dream is a potential future.
    2. A dream remains a dream if we do nothing about it.
    3. God gives you a dream, but it will remain just a dream if you do nothing about it.
