San Francisco Homeless Outreach

Jonathan Fung
Youth Pastor
December 2019
On December 1st, twenty-two of us from SCFBC
packed 32 industrial garbage bags with jackets,
blankets, beanies, and hygiene kits for the homeless.
One hour later we drove to the Millbrae Bart Station
and headed into San Francisco. Once we arrived at
the Civic Center, we were immediately met by several people in need of warm winter clothing. A
barefoot woman approached us in the BART station who had all of her belongings stolen. We prayed
for her and provided her with a warm jacket, blanket, and socks. Later she blessed us with prayers of
protection as we went out.

We divided into three teams and walked in the heavy rain to serve and pray for people living on the streets. The Holy Spirit led each of our teams into different directions and we were able to bless many people and met their physical needs. One man named Lester asked for prayer. Joba and Nathan from the VIBE Youth Group prayed healing for his mother with cancer.

Counting our blessings three days after celebrating Thanksgiving helped soften our hearts with compassion as we served the homeless.

“For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.”(Matthew 25:35-36)
