MULTIPLY X2: Embracing the Call to Multiply the number of people who are inviting and investing in people.
As we gathered for MULTIPLY X2, we reflected on our journey that began with MULTIPLY X1. Three months ago, we made a commitment to embrace the call to invite others to Christ and invest in others to invite & invest—Disciple making Disciple. We are called to share the new and abundant life that Jesus has given us.
MULTIPLY X1 was learning to identify people who God placed in our hearts to invite them to know Him more fully. God has called us to reveal His Kingdom to those whom God called us to mentor and to inspire.
MULTIPLY X2 served as a follow-up to determine how and whether we are fulfilling the promises that we made to God three months ago.
God called upon us to multiply. In Matthew 25:24-30 (NKJV), we learn of the servant who hid his one Talent, fearing that he would lose his only Talent and have none. Upon learning this, the servant's master was indignant: "But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant...Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.’" This Parable of the Talents teaches us that God wants us to use and multiply our gifts and to never let what God has given us go unused.
From the beginning of Creation, God wanted mankind to multiply. In Genesis 1:28 (NKJV), "He blessed Adam and Eve, saying, 'Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.'" God's command to "fill the earth" with the Gospel message is in the Great Commission, where Jesus says to His disciples in Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV): "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you."
