As we prepare for H.O.P.E. Silicon Valley, on Sunday, August 4th, let's remember the meaning of the word "Hope."

The dictionary defines the word hope as: "a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen; a feeling of trust."

The message of Jesus is to bring hope to a broken world, and we are able to learn how Jesus did just that when we read the many accounts of His teaching and His works in the New Testament. The "Good News of Jesus Christ" was a message that was needed then, when people were searching for a savior and healer to their broken world.

We can see all around us that this continues to be the need today. We are in need of healing, comfort, safety, and especially hope. Let us remember as we serve others on Sunday, August 4th, that we are doing much more than handing out school supplies and providing services to those in need in our community. More importantly, we are giving the message of HOPE that Jesus brought to earth over 2,000 years ago—a hope that is so much needed today.

May God continue to help us pass on His hopeful message to those around us!

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
