During the month of August and September the main room in the fellowship hall is going to be remodeled.
ASBESTOS
The building was built in 1959 and the ceiling and floor (under the carpet) have asbestos in it which makes remodeling a challenge. The church has decided to finally take care of this problem by setting aside $50,000 to bring in a professional asbestos abatement company to properly scrape the ceilings and demo the flooring out. If you would like to help offset the asbestos portion of the remodel please indicate "asbestos" on any donations.
We will be updating the following features of the fellowship hall:
- Insulate the ceiling and retexture
- Replace plastic wainscoting with wood paneling
- Remove coffee counter and cabinets
- Remove green wood cabinet
- Add additional electrical wall outlets on walls
- Install new design on youth room wall
- Investigate mounting a basketball hoop on the youth room wall
- Paint the entire room in a new color scheme
- New glass (smoked) doors by Youth Room exit
- New exit signs
- Replace carpet in room 11/12 and fireside room with carpet tiles
- New carpet tiles in main room and baseboard
DONATING
We are using past donations to our building fund and some budgeted money to pay for this much needed upgrade. If you would like to donate toward the asbestos portion designate "asbestos" if you would like to donate towards this remodel and future campus improvements you can designate "building fund".
