July 2023
SAVE THE DATE!
Sunday, July 30th, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., is the annual "HOPE
Silicon Valley" event.
At this year's HOPE Silicon Valley, there will be lots of ways for you to help: setting up and taking down tables and tents; serving lunch; handing out bottles of water; helping at the haircut station; giving books away; giving out backpacks; and giving health-related information to those who come to the event.
If you would like to help at this event, please contact the church office
at 408-241-7635 or send an email to office@scfbc.org.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!
Representatives from the READ Santa Clara literacy program will provide information about the public libraries in Santa Clara, and the Santa Clara Library Book Mobile will be at the event too. So be sure to invite your friends and neighbors whose children are in elementary, middle school, or high school.
And let your friends and neighbors know that the church is giving free backpacks and school supplies to kids who need them. NOTE: In order to receive a free backpack and school supplies, parents must be present and must register their children at the event.
Do you have questions about being baptized or becoming a member of the church? If you do, please call the church office at 408-241-7635 or send an email to office@scfbc.org. Or, when you attend a worship service, you can fill out a Connection Card, which you'll see on the back of the chair in front of where you sit. A Connection Card lets the church staff know that you are interested in learning more about the church, about being baptized, or about joining the church. Pastor Rich or Pastor Jonathan will then get in touch with you about getting together to answer your questions.
PRAYER AT "THE WELL." Every week at the end of the Sunday morning worship service, you can come to "The Well" at the front of the sanctuary to receive personal prayer. Pastors and members of the church staff will be there to pray privately with you.
REMEMBER THE SUNDAY GRILL! Every Sunday after the morning worship service, there's the the Sunday Grill. Here you'll have the choice of hamburgers, hot dogs, salmon burgers, veggie burgers – all freshly grilled in the church's commUNITY Park. There are plenty of tables for friends, families and visitors to eat together and chat. A $3.00 donation is requested to help with the cost of the meals, but no donation is required. There's a playground for kids too!
If you would like to become a volunteer to help at the Sunday Grill, please contact Greg at greg@scfbc.org.
