On June 7th, the VIBE Youth Group celebrated its graduating 8th graders and its incoming Middle Schoolers.
VIBE Youth Mentors, Nicole, Allison, and Kevin, and students Grace and Emma, helped decorate for the graduation celebration. A tasty catered dinner was provided and served in the church's Community Park.
This was a special evening – a great time for friends and family to share in the festivities and for parents to meet one other.
Josie and Luisa led an interactive game that was fun and competitive for the youth and their parents.
Inside the youth room, the VIBE worship team led worship, followed by the blessing of our graduates, and a special graduation video that Josie created. The VIBE group also honored Camille, a new 6th grader who loves attending VIBE.
Grace introduced Emma and Sam, who were promoted to the 9th grade. There was a special tribute to our youth mentor, Evelyn C., who graduated from San Jose State University with a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching. And Sira gave special gift bags filled with goodies to everyone in VIBE who graduated.
Luisa, a rising 11th grader, gave a heartfelt speech that encouraged the graduates and everyone in our youth group. Luisa was grateful to Pastor Jonathan, Miss Allison, and VIBE for the opportunities she had to grow closer to God since she joined VIBE in the 6th grade. We are thankful for Luisa for serving as a youth leader and leading the games that the group played during the past
2-1/2 years. We miss Luisa, as she and her family have moved away from the Bay Area. But we hope to see her at special VIBE events in the future.
Pastor Jonathan concluded this VIBE "Graduate Shout-Out" event by praying over the graduates and youth! We thank the Lord for blessing our youth group.
