Library Team
September 2019

Thank you for your donations of DVDs and books to the SCFBC Library! Besides adding many of these donations to the library's collection, we donated some books and media materials to the ABW Seafarers Christmas at Sea Ministry, and some for the Operation Christmas Child ministry. We also donated twenty-eight (28) boxes of materials to the H.O.P.E. Silicon Valley 2019 book give-away in August, and the books that remain from that event will be donated to  the annual Rummage Sale, which will be held on Friday and Saturday, on October 4th and 5th, in the Fellowship Hall. We've done, and our doing, our best to make good use of all of your donations.

Just a reminder: Even though the Sunday Grill is coming to a close on September 8th, you can still visit the library on Sunday mornings after the worship service. You can also visit Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Just go to the office and ask someone there to open the library for you.

When you find something you'd like to borrow, there's a sign-out sheet, just like the one in the Lobby, for you to record your name, the name of the book or DVD you are borrowing, and the last four numbers of the SCFBC Bar Code on the back of the book or DVD. Please enjoy the materials and return them within a reasonable amount of time, usually two or three weeks, just like materials borrowed at the Santa Clara City Library, so others may borrow them too.

Teen Readers! We have acquired 15 to 20 books in the "Dear America" series that you might be interested in reading. These are fiction books, written in the style of a teenager's diary. The books are based on actual historical events, such as the voyage of the Titanic, the American Indian wars, wagon trains crossing the west on the Oregon Trail, and the diaries of young soldiers in the Civil War, World War I, and World War II. And for those who enjoy fantasy, we have seven books in the The King of the Trees series, by William Burt.
