Books Never Become Obsolete or Out of Date

I find it interesting that on many Zoom telecasts we see a wall or even a room filled with books. Have you noticed that leaders, legislators, and people of all ages, nationalities, and different countries own books? This fact is interesting to me because I remember that when electronic readers were developed in the mid-2000s, the media assumed that printed books and libraries would soon be obsolete. Huh? Obsolete? Are you kidding? What we see on Zoom proves that wrong. Thank goodness! Libraries would be open and busy if there were no pandemic now. So, until they're open again, let's select a book, get a group of friends to read it, and then have a lively discussion about it on Zoom. Like we do in Life Groups. It's a great way to keep our minds stimulated!

And especially remember to read to your children. They will cherish the memories later, and so, of course, will you.

The Library Team looks forward to seeing you in person as soon as it is safe to be together. In the meantime, pick up your phone, call a family member, friend, or neighbor, and see how they are doing. And be sure to ask them if they have read a good book lately!
