Redwood Glen is in Operation Again
Redwood Glen hosted a guest group this last weekend and it was wonderful to be back in operation. When the opportunity arises, the staff is prepared and able to keep everyone safe while creating a joyful experience. There are still health and safety guidelines to maintain, but the team knows what to do. During the previous week, the camp’s water supply once again became operational and tested safe for use.
How did the staff get the camp ready for this event? Prior to the group’s arrival, the facilities were deep cleaned and sanitized to ensure everyone’s protection while on site. The overnight guests stayed in the Siden Conference Center’s hotel-style bedrooms and everyone had their own private bathroom. The meals were provided in boxed takeout fashion and eaten in the picnic area. Social distancing guidelines, including the wearing of face masks, were followed by both the staff and the guests.
What Redwood Glen can do for future events, and opening the camps, will be determined by the County of San Mateo and California state regulations. We are ready now to respond to any opportunity, and Redwood Glen remains a place where God impacts people, both through the wonders of creation and the ministry of the staff.

The water treatment plant depends on two main supply lines for the raw (untreated/unfiltered) water. One source – from Piney Creek – was installed and connected a couple of weekends ago. On September 19, the Hoffman Creek line was "pulled" and placed. That line will soon be in operation as well.
About 15 enthusiastic volunteers joined with our Redwood Glen staff to pull a half-mile-long run of pipe into place. Then they moved a tank that had been destroyed by the fire into the dumpster. Lunch and much appreciation were provided all around for the great service of these volunteers!
Our first priority was the safety of all, and safety rules were practiced throughout the effort.
