Ann and Bill Clemmer have served since 1993 with International Ministries. They have served in Haiti, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and South Sudan. Bill is a Doctor. They reside in the (DRC) on the Congo-Rwanda border. They work with International Ministries partners HEAL Africa and IMA World Health. Since October 2018 Bill has been based 200 miles south of Goma; he led a team of over 80 Congolese doctors, nurses and engineers in the fight against a raging Ebola outbreak – the longest in Congo’s history. Ann coordinates programs for HEAL Africa in the struggling town of Goma. These programs provide Christian education, counseling, food and clothing to over 1000 children each week. Many of these children attend the worship and Sunday school activities.

Ann writes: As you may know, the Ebola outbreak in Eastern Congo was finally ended after two years. And Bill is moving on to a new challenge. He left for South Sudan (where we lived from 2011 t0 2015). Maternal & child mortality has increased significantly in South Sudan over the last few years, compounded by a prolonged civil war and now Covid 19. In fact, the country has some of the highest rates of mortality for women and young children. Bill will be starting up a program in the interior of the country to address these issues in partnership with Interchurch Medical Assistance (IMA) and Lutheran World Relief (LWR), along with a team of dedicated South Sudanese doctors and nurses. He will be in South Sudan until Christmas, while I continue my work with children and women in eastern Congo. We so appreciate the prayers and support of our family, dear friends and churches back home… and we thank God for continued opportunities to serve.
