November 2020

The pandemic is hitting our teens the hardest! Recent statistics reveal that mental illness and suicide are on the rise for teenagers due to shelter in place and online education.

It's vital that they have opportunities to look forward to and a safe space to socialize in person.

Last week our VIBE youth group met at CommUNITY Park and were so happy to see each other. It was amazing that no one was on their device during the entire gathering. They missed each other so much that they engaged in conversations the whole time. We all enjoyed yummy pizza and candy, beautiful live acoustic worship led by Ayla with Shim on guitar, and Nathan on the cajon. Later we prayed, then walked a few blocks to the pumpkin patch and each youth selected a pumpkin to take home.

It was very rewarding to hear the youth share how much fun they had and would like to meet again in person soon. We are planning a Thanksgiving gathering in November and will provide more details at VIBE (on-line).

Please pray that our youth choose to have a deeper relationship with Christ and will experience His unfailing love and encouragement during this challenging time.
