Earlier in October, Santa Clara County moved from the Red Tier to the Orange Tier (Tier Three) of the COVID-19 reopening framework. The county now allows churches to open indoor worship services at limited capacity: the lesser of 25% normal capacity or 100 people. The staff at Santa Clara First Baptist Church (SCBFC) is considering the idea of allowing 25 people to reserve a spot to join our worship service in person each week.

We feel that we have a portion of our membership that enjoy watching our live stream each week, but that some are not watching the live stream and would prefer to attend the church in person. If we met in-person in the near future it would mean: mask-wearing, social distancing, no child care, no after-service snacks, and a limited group of 25 people to start. If the demand for in-person attendance grew, we would need to consider ramping up from 25 people to more, and also consider multiple in-person services to meet demand and allow proper social distancing.

The purpose of this short survey is to gather information about how our congregation feels about this potential change.
