BLAST into summer with an EXPLOSIVE Vacation Bible School program like you’ve never experienced before. SCFBC is hosting B.A.S.I.C. Elements Science VBS. Kids will explore the world of science – from launching rockets to squishing slime – while walking through five elements of faith: Believe, Ask, Serve, Impact, and Celebrate. The five scripture readings will be 1 John 5:11-12Matthew 7:71 Peter 4:9-10, Acts 1:8, and Revelation 21:3-4.

Each week, kids will hear the Word of God during science devotionals, play science games and have science-themed snacks, and watch crazy science videos. Your whole family will enjoy the daily verse memorization with scripture songs featuring "Lantern Music."

As you plan for your summer, decide what takes priority in your schedule. Studies show that 75% of kids who are part of a strong evangelical church will eventually leave the church and lose any connection to Christ during the ages of 18 to 29. Further research asked this question: What was different about the 25% percent who stayed in the church?

Research shows five things were true of the 25% who DID NOT leave the church and/or end their relationship with Christ when they were 18 to 29 years old:

1. Ate dinner at least 5 of 7 nights a week as a family

2. Served WITH their families in a faith-based ministry

3. Were entrusted with significant responsibility in a ministry at a young age

4. Had at least one significant spiritual experience in the home during each week

5. Had at least one adult in their lives, other than their parents, who believed as their parents believed

Attending a summer VBS program is an opportunity to have an adult — other than a parent — speak and bring truth into your children’s lives.

Give your kids a fun, engaging, and memorable summer of exploring science and the “basic” elements of faith at B.A.S.I.C. Elements Science VBS. And when you are having family meals or devotion at home, enjoy hearing a recap of their hands-on science experience, and practice reciting the daily Bible verse with them.

Kids (Grade K-5; ages 5-11) will meet every Friday at 7:15 pm over Zoom with the Family Life Team. We will also communicate through other mediums, if needed, to demonstrate the projects and enjoy these weeks of hands-on science, crazy skits, and devotional teaching.

The Five Meeting Dates: Fridays on July 17, 24, 31 and August 7 and 14

VBS Closing Celebration and Volunteer Appreciation: Sunday, August 16 at 10:30 A.M.
