FHHL  The Forgive, Heal, Hope and Love Young Adult Group

FHHL is kicking off the summer with an emphasis on HEALING – the second word in our acronym. Contrary to popular belief, young adults are not invincible. We all need the healing spirit of God to sustain us. The FHHL Group hopes to continue supporting one another in Zoom gatherings and by other digital communication. My greatest hope is to provide a Multinational BBQ and a Healing Retreat by the end of the summer, as we strive for excellence in faith and studies.

The Young Adults in the United States today enjoy a rich diversity in culture and philosophy. Although it is exciting to navigate through today's fast-paced environment, it can leave one exhausted. The uncertain future of an academic degree and/or job can be overwhelming to a young person who is not yet settled in a permanent career.

The FHHL Group seeks to provide a sanctuary of hope for those who are seeking to know and serve God. Being rooted in the Word of God, here are some of the discussion questions we explore:

Q: Paul went from persecuting the church to spreading the gospel and working to build up the church. Who in your life makes you think of Paul? Pray for that person now and add then to your Prayer List. Have you been persecuted before? Please feel free to share your experiences.

Q: There is a time for anger, but we must not hold onto it. I know that I can easily get angry, especially when someone offends my family or me. What is a healthy way you could channel your energy of anger this week? Let us decide on one way that everyone in our FHHL group could be kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving during the week.

Q: There are definitely times when we make a mistake or are disobedient. In one of Paul's letters, he writes about someone who does not help when work must be done. Even Paul agrees that we must keep our distance from the kind of person who is rebellious (undisciplined) and unwilling to share in the work that needs to be done. Have you ever had to distance yourself from other Christians?

In the FHHL group, you will meet other Young Adults who are committed to following Christ in order to make the gospel known to all. We know how to love others because God loved us first.
